Rerunning a Screen That Worked
When one of my holdings doubled after a little over one year holding period, I remembered it had turned up in a screen from last July. I went back to see how the other hits had done and found all ten had gone up with seven outperforming the S&P500. Hmm, 70% success rate; maybe I should try this again.
The screen turned up 19 hits and, like last year, I did a quick scan and pared it down to ten.
The only carry-over from last year's list was my double, Hawkins (HWKN).
In addition to HWKN, I thought three of the ten were worth further research. You can find the screen parameters, stock list, and brief description of the three stocks I thought were interesting in my latest Fool article.
As Fools know, screen results should be considered starting points for further research, not buy recommendations. And, there's no guarantee this will work again.
Your thoughts/questions on running the screen or the results are welcome here or in the article comments.
Disclosure: Long HWKN.
