Resistance -- More Futile Every Day
The Borg aren't coming, they are already here, and enrolled at MIT. Want proof?
MIT's fuel cell uses glucose to power brain implants
... and the cerebrospinal fluid is loaded with glucose that doesn't get used by the body, meaning the fuel cell's impact on brain function would likely be negligible, the engineers said.
Riiighhht....long term effects are just the desire to conform and identify those who do not : )
In all seriousness, this could indeed be a large step toward what could become a wave of implantable devices, controlling things like diabetes, inflammation, blood pressure .. ect, ect. Nice work MIT, let me know where to go for the assimmillation.
