Rice Rationing at Sam's Club...

April 23, 2008 – Comments (6)

Hey, you know what would be a great idea? How about we make ethanol out of rice, you know, for our cars? Maybe we should pay gulf coast rice farmers a subsidy if they divert rice to fuel. Why should corn have all the fun?

There. Problem solved.

See, I told my kids this was why they needed to finish all the food on their plate - but do they listen.  No they do not.  Instead they just accuse me of serving them biodiesel.

C'mon, if you call this "rationing" then you have never lived in a society that does.

If you want 32 bags of rice, just go in to the store 8 times. Or bring your spouse and the kids and each go in twice.

Rationing is when the government gives you a coupon, and without the coupon you are not allowed to buy rice. And believe me, if it ever comes that far, it will even be difficult to buy rice with the coupon...

It's absolutley hilarious on these blogs.  Most of the Bloggers identify themselves as "free market capitalists" and decry any regulation of markets.  Wah!  Republicans have controlled the White House, the Congress and the Courts for eight years and you are still unhappy.  We still over regulate!  At least according to the boneheads who blog here.

Let me make this simple for you.  There are people with a boatload of money.  They love money.  They want more money.  They will do anything they can to get more money.  They will lie, cheat and steal to get more money.  They will tell grandma down the street that they can save her $500 on her mortgage.  They will sell her a teaser rate mortgage by lieing to her.  They will sell the note to the highest bidder by lieing to the market.  They do not give a f___k about you, the country or your "free market" values.  However, your "free market" values allow these people to flourish, profit and get away with their stealing.  Congratulations "free market capitalists" you got what you deserve.

Just you wait until MCD is forced to raise the price of their venerable "dollar menu."

Riots in the streets, etc.

On second thought, they could always just start calling it the "Euro menu" or the "Canadian dollar menu."

Then most Americans probably wouldn't even notice the increases.
