RS Weekly Update - Super Bowl Investing

December 31, 2010 – Comments (0)

Dear Fools,

I’m a football junkie. No, I never played the game (except for around the neighborhood as a kid), but when the NFL season starts I can’t get enough. So naturally when the opportunity to join a fantasy league presents itself I take it; and I take it seriously. I research players and teams throughout the season to make sure I know the trends and where the real “value” lies, all in the hopes of making it to the “Super Bowl” at the end of the season.

Well, that time is now and I’ve made it. From a league of ten down to two, we’ll duke it out this coming Sunday to determine the champ. The nice thing is that regardless who wins, we both make a nice return on our investment. The runner-up doubles his money and the winner ends up with a nice 8-bagger; not bad for 17 weeks.

What’s my point? Well, part of it is that I just like talking football. But I also approach fantasy football much like I approach investing. I am always looking for the best, a way to gain an edge. For me pretty much all options are on the table.  And at the end of the day I want to see a satisfactory return on my “investment”.

So win or lose, I've had a ball this season. And regardless of the outcome, like Ah-nold I’ll be back. Until then I’ll be searching for the best investments around the globe, because thankfully the market’s season is all year long.

Happy New Year!
