easy to poke fun at the 'flight or fight' reflex. ah, the nobility of the internet. i'd be most curious to see your reaction to eminent death by 30mm spent-uranium slugs. as we say in the martial arts: "big talk. small butt." :D   how's about a 'tip of the hat' to the bodyguards who covered him with their own flak jackets. if i was mr.S., i'd buy those guys a tall, cold vodka (geogian, of course).

Some fear is natural, but I'll submit that a man who a) claims to be a national hero, b) orders his troups to invade a neighboring province, and c) visits the frontline to flaunt his courage, should control his emotions, especially when d) there are no enemy planes around :):):)

It is really time to watch, who is a reliable news source. There is extremly much misinformation out there and also propaganda.

Michael Saakashvili has a clear overconfidence problem, like many lawyers do who studied at Harvard.

First he started the war on the eve of the olympic games (so that maybe nobody would react), second, while the Georgians were retreating he started to lure in Nato with his rethoric, fourth, after he signed the treaty for the end of hostilities, he presented himself as the winner and said things like "we will die until the last person".

And finally now he is starting to blame Nato and the USA for not intervening. (And this althoug Condi Rice told him behind closed doors they would not interfere!

I'll have a blog on this in a couple of days.

Ah, I forgot "third": he said that Russia is about to invade and annect all of "democratic" elected Georgia. (Hey that guy was reelected under doubious terms and he had the opposition teargased and beaten up, when they demonstrated.)

Yes, and you should have seen his disappointment when he realized that Bush is not going to start World War III for his amusement. My take is, the string doll imagined that it can manipulate the people who are pulling the strings.
