Sailed away...

I just returned from sea and was pleasantly surprised to see that my baby portfolio had not only survived without my constant attention, but managed to flourish going from being up 29% to being up 60% on the year. I can't complain about that.
Just before I departed, I had to trim some fat and dumped some of the not-so-stellar performers (or more correctly some poorly timed buys that went south). So I continue to learn, and figure things out.
One thing I learned while I was away is that I do not need to watch my portfolio nearly as closely as I used to. That tells me that I am either getting better at this game or that my current positions are pretty solid and balanced.
Since I know my portfolio isn't properly balanced (I know I have a ways to go still), I know I have gotten better at this game and that my positions are pretty solid.
Now, I am sitting on a little bit of capital hunting for some companies to make my portfolio a bit more balanced. Realize, when I say my portfolio, I am not referring to my TMF portfolio which while reflective of my real world portfolio is a bit my diverse that I can afford in real life.
So, any of you smart TMFers out there with some suggestions on smart non-tech, non-energy, non-commodities plays...I am all ears.
