Sell ORCL or CSCO ?

January 14, 2013 – Comments (5) | RELATED TICKERS: ORCL , CSCO

I have now overweighed my portfolio in tech and need to jettison either ORCL or CSCO - both at roughly the same gains.

Any suggestions on which stock to part with would be appreciated, thanks!

Both are solid companies.  Why not sell half of each?

In my opinion Oracle is a little better company but Cisco is a little cheaper.

I agree with awallejr, it's a toss-up.

I would dump CSCO, I am not bullish on their prospects.

Well, Oracle and Cisco are both trading at what I'd consider as a modest discount. Based solely on competitive advantages, I'd sell Cisco.

I agree with what seems to be emerging as the majority opinion:  sell CSCO.  In fact, needing to raise some money for a major expense, I just sold some CSCO this morning.  Not a bad company, CSCO has had a good run and may be due for a rest.
