Signs of Recovery - Golf and Baseball

July 02, 2009 – Comments (2) | RELATED TICKERS: ELY

With the July 4 holiday coming up my sister and brother-in-law decided to visit from Phoenix.  Our plan was to play golf and maybe catch a Rockies game.  It seems that at least here in Denver the economy is not as bad as the rest of the country.  I tried at least 10 different golf courses before I could get a tee time reserved before 2PM on Friday. (After 2 nobody wants to play because of the chance for thunderstorms)  And both the Friday night and Saturday night Rockies games are sold out!  Even the $75 infield box seats are gone!

So that tells me that things are looking up - or there are lots of people who just want to get out and have some fun after being unemployed forever!

Thunderstorms all weekend in Denver, that sucks. At least the economy seems to be doing alright out there:)

The Fri & Sat games sell out every year. They have fireworks after the game and some sections are allowed to go lay in the outfield for the show. The Rockies are 1.5 games out of the wild card, which doesn't hurt either.
