You don't have to pay the workers much, they work long hours, benefits are a bargain, and you can take their women and children for free.

Imgaine how much more banks could pay savers if we enslaved/improsioned the criminal bailed out bankers and forced them to work from jail for free.

Off topic here, but your comments made me think of my economic history course.  I found it interesting that if you look at slavery 2000 years ago the slaves were not protesting that they were slaves, but they were protesting standard of living/conditions; time off, proper accommodations for the era, proper diet and that kind of thing.  I forget everything, but I remember thinking at the time it seemed they were quite willing to server their owners for the same kind of economic security as we seek from a good job.
