This is so getting absurd...

"Pentagon to Deploy 20,000 troops, in the US..."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/11/30/AR2008113002217_pf.html

So I know our economy is going to crap, but since when did we completely lose touch with reality? I was under the impression that the President did NOT have the authority to deploy troops on domestic soil, doesn't this go against the constitution. I thought local, state governments were in charge of that. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a paranoid freak, and yes I do go outside...But is anyone else a tad bit worried about the way our country is headed and the retards that are driving us there? I am getting less and less confident that we (the government) has any idea of what we are doing.

This is a great combination, a horrible economy, and now American Military troops "protecting us" from evil. Yeah!

Goodbye freedom, goodbye rights, I'll surely miss you both .Just kidding, hopefully...

I'm waiting and ready, I honestly think we are headed that way. At least some form of "revolution". But I'm not holding my breath...

A revolution is first going to need an "awakening" of the American people - a sense of outrage against the disconnect of the government from its people and the resulting wearing away of civil rights.  Currently, most Americans are 1) too sheltered by media sources from many truths and scandals, and 2) too apathetic, or feeling too helpless, to make noise and express outrage over the things they actually know about.  Also, we're all too busy trying to earn a living (both parents working, for example) to find the time to protest over the things we should be protesting over.  And many of us work so hard at those jobs, we don't even have the energy left to do so (myself, for example, in that category).

Ummmm... yeah, I'd say that's really very disturbing on so many levels. Thanks for posting the article... I think I was hearing rumors of something like this nature over the last few months... ugh.

I think you hit the problem right on. People in this country need to wake up and take a stand for their beliefs. I realize this is much harder said than done, but we need to start, even if it is small at first. I think people tend to forget that this entire country is founded on the principle of "the government working for the people". We forget this all too important fact and start to believe we are here for the government. No, this is backwards. I hope we as a country can begin to wake up, come together, and take back our country. Before it's too late...
