Spam Blocker or Market Forces?

December 07, 2007 – Comments (5)

It has been ages since I got one of those "we have a mortgage deal for you" emails.

Is it my spam blocker working better or are those emails drying up?

I scanned through my Spam mail box and found 2 emails from Santa Claus to my children and only one mortgage deal.   That proves that mortgage deal is harder to find than Santa Claus.

I guess they figure out that it would be a waste fo time talk to a person responding to a spam email on mortgages with no chance of getting funding from a bank for such a doofus.

I'm getting zillions on my yahoo email address.

"It may sound like a broken record, but spam continues to do just that — break records. This year marks the first time the total number of spam e-mail messages sent worldwide, 10.8 trillion, will surpass the number of person-to-person e-mails sent, 10.5 trillion, according to market researcher IDC.

"Every year for the past four years has been the worst year yet," says Rebecca Steinberg Herson, vice president of marketing at e-mail security firm Commtouch."

They're still advertising in banner ads though.

4.65%...then it starts increasing 1% every six months.  This isn't for everyone though.  You must meet their strict requirement of 620 FICO score.

zygnoda, a zillion email still offering mortgage deals or spam in general?

I know I'm getting bombarded with other spam, and I am highly disappointed in Google right now because their spam blocker has allowed about 30 idential spam email through in the past 2 days.

I don't seem to get that many about mortgages anymore.  When I posted before I was just talking about the total amount of spam.  I missinterpreted the point of your post.  I get multiple copies of the same piece of spam too.  It is a royal pain in the you know what.  The strangest thing is that I get emails that are supposedly more than a year old.
