October 10, 2010 – Comments (21) | RELATED TICKERS: CSKI , DYP , MTL

As I have mentioned before, Ultralong’s Blog on Chana  Here  was very timely.

It helped me to move big percentage of my portfolio to CSKI and DYP.

Those two are my biggest investments for now, and on both I am up 14%.

Thanks UL

Andrey

My arguments are very simple low PE.

That’s my real portfolio

1/3-MTL,

1/3-AIB,

1/3-IRE,

(from here)

--------------

Just sold all IRE (15%) for MTL

Sold all REV (10%) for AIB

Now I have 50% in AIB   50% in MTL  Hope this drop stops soon.

#2 okay, it may not really appear to have stopped. I just think it has. I currently have 3000 AIB shares in my portfolio with an average buying price of around $1.22 (see comments #135,159 here).

I've been meaning to make a blog on AIB since the M&T sale went through.

Their current market cap is $530M and they are planning to raise euro5.4B.  So that suggests ~93% dilution.  If that is correct, they would be fairly well capitalized and trading around 0.7x book value - maybe a good deal.

I wouldn't bet a third of my portfolio on it though...

And don't you think buying Chinese stocks after that Nobel Prize thing feels very much like investing in Carthage in 150 BC?

Putin did pretty well for himself. Other capitalists - not nearly as well. The combined net worth of Russian/ex-Soviet "capitalists" does not even come close to that of the Soviet Union in 1985. It will take at least 30 years to achieve the net wealth and living standards of the old Soviet Union.
