Speedy's Top 10 Mining Picks for 2013 # 9

October 22, 2012 – Comments (5) | RELATED TICKERS: SAND

While deciding between the number 1 and 2 top 10 picks for 2013 is the most difficult part of the choosing my top 10. This would have made #1 if it didn;t have the massive run-up seen over the last 6-8 weeks, hitting a low of $3.09 and a high near $6.

Colossus Minerals ~ Colossus is one of my favorite gold stories for 2013 and 2014 as it is one of the highest grade deposits in the world. It was also host to the biggest gold rush in Latin American history. It;s flagship asset, Serra Pelada is expected to reach commerical production in 2013 with very small amounts of Pd and Pt. My projection is for 50,000 oz Au between production and that processed from the bulk sample. I;m also forecasting the avg grade in the NI 43-101 to be 17 g/t +/- 2. Even though cash costs tend to be higher in a mines first year of operation, the goes for Colossus, however, due to the high grade nature of the CMZ, I;m expecting this to come in around $500 +/- $100. By 2015 Colossus should be firing on all cyclinders as I expect them to buy back hald the stream that was sold to sandstorm on Pt and Pd and cash costs being reduced to $150-$200 +/- $50. By that tie Significant progress should be made on it nearby Cutia Au-Ag mine, which is also past producing.

And from their latest release:

Claudio Mancuso, President & CEO of Colossus commented, "While still early in the underground drilling campaign, we are encouraged that the first few holes indicate that the CMZ is wider and contains better grades than what we were able to interpret from surface drilling in this area. The Lower Limb continues to demonstrate its potential with another high grade intercept and other intercepts that continue to expand the zone."

Any knowledge as to whether they are traded as a pink slip company or not?  I've checked with Fidelity, and the company does not register on a search, leaving me with the impression that they are only listed on the TSX, no pink slip opps. to be had.

Quite disliked on CAPS since 2009. But I suspect most people who red thumbed it were just following the herd.
