Star Wars is enjoying its biggest opening weekend in history Star Wars: The Force Awakens boasts biggest opening weekend in history by Tom Mendelsohn.


"The film has taken $517m (£347m) worldwide – the second biggest global opening in history, putting it slightly behind Jurassic World's $525m (£353m). However, Jurassic World opened in China on its first weekend, something that won't happen for The Force Awakens until 9 January." 

Too bad The Force Awakens didn't or couldn't open in China simultaneously worldwide like Jurassic World, which surely gurantee its biggest global opening if it had. Cheer up Star Wars fans and investors here are a few examples of where the Star Wars franchise is pulling extra income.
