Success in Life and Investing

To be successful in life and investing...you must maintain your character and resolve.  Don't turtle everytime things don't go your way.  Don't change your identity and pretend to start over....it is still you and you can't runaway from yourself in life.

Don't quit just becuase you are not happy with the result.  As yourself why you failed and learn from it.....it will serve you make you much stronger and better prepared for the future.  Find opportunities and take advantage of them.  There will be periods when opportunities flood in at you and other times when it seems like a drought.

Be persistent during dry times.....the tide will turn in your favor.  But don't lose your character....in the process you will lose yourself....and in the end what is success if you are not you.

But most of all...when you score a touchdown...don't jump up and down scraming and shouting like a monkey....pretend you have been there before.....and be confident you will be there again.

If you stay focused, maintain calm, and set attainable goals....the likelihood and flavor of success is much greater if you keep character along the way.  Otherwise you are simply a zoo animal for people to laugh at as you travel along the path of life and investing.

Yes, you learn more from your failures than successes since the latter only breed hubris rather than humility.

You are disingenuous Alstry. Your last two blogs are all nice and touchy feely. You talk about character etc, yet you still can't remove your hard-on for personally attacking Floridabuilder in your posts. Although you trash talk to him more subtly than in previous posts, it is obvious this guy clearly gets to you. You then try to rip him to get him back into the mix with you. Then he says adios to CAPS and you really step up the level of referencing/ripping him, hoping that maybe if you hit him with all the insults you can, he'll stay, knowing that he too has a big ego to feed and might want to keep up the pissing contest with you..

I know you try to downplay this by saying you are competitive and just trash talk in the context of competition, but that is BS when you look back at all of your posts. FB totaly gets your goat, and it shows in the condesending tone of your posts.

And spare me the FB cheerleader accusation, as I think he is full of crap and loves to hear himself talk alot too...
