News of a GM-Chrysler merger has chilled automotive workers throughout the country. Such a partnership would result in the closing of seven of Chrysler's 14 U.S. factories and ... As many as 200,000 jobs could be cut ...
Now the Job Cuts Really begin......
Plus dealers will be shut down, suppliers, ad agency support, truckers, and many support services.....not mention the income and social security taxes paid by those workers.
As I have stated we are well on our way to 15% umemployment and probably capping out at between 30-50% before its over.
Quite frankly, it is surprising that things have stayed so strong for so long.......but it clearly appears the cracks are starting to give.
By January...there will be very little commercial construction and residential construction in progress, the auto business will be a fraction of its former size, banks and financial service companies will have reduced staffs even further as the wave approaches shore.
My suggestion: Grab a board and surf the tsunami.....but traditional thinking will cause you to wipe out. Think not what was....but what will be..... now how...but what........
What was will not be....but what isn't may be....and maybe you could surf your way to the ride of your life.
