If only we had more stimulus money or higher taxes to fund improvements in subway efficiency and infrastructure so that we can all get to the rally in time to protest government spending.....

Interesting.

I have always wondered the lengths Gov'ts go to get their ways.  In DC's case they are all about big Gov't and i wouldn't imagine Tea Party types as being welcome.

On the flip side.  When the Govt wants something they can get aggressive. Where I live, they have been trying for years to build a community center complex with a pool, workout center and kid activity center.  Every year, the advertising budget must go up as the signs (asking for votes) get better looking and elaborate.

It's almost Onion-worthy, isn't it?  If nothing else, it's definitely the most ironic news story of the day.

Ouch! Interesting article. Perhaps protests should be handled by web conferencing:) It is very easy to be inconsistent in belief and action.I don't have confidence in politicians of any party to think through the ramifications of what they say before they act. However, DC congestion must be experienced to be believed. A relative unfamiliar with the area once took me on a "short cut"right through the middle of DC at rush hour. When I saw the Washington Post office, I knew we had stayed on too long. Everyone attempted to rush, but it was futile. My nearest "metropolis" is Greenville, SC which is nothing like DC.
