Tea Party = Big Spenders?

May 19, 2012 – Comments (2)

The monthly treasury statement for the period ending April 2012 is most interesting.

The House of Representatives spending has increased $7 million from the prior year.

The Senate has reduced spending $3 million from the prior year.

The Office of the President reduced spending $87 million from the prior year.

The House has good spending control talking points, if only they could reduce its spending.

The democrats control the White House and the Senate and surprisingly spending is down. Meanwhile the GOP controls the House of Representatives and spending is up.

The only logical conclusion to explain the House increased spending might be the tea party, right?

bit of a stretch considering the "tea party" is the minority of the house.

Spending at the House of Representatives is picking up steam, the May 2012 treasury statement shows spending up $10 million year to date versus prior year levels.

Meanwhile spending by the Senate has declined by $4 million.
