I have a friend that is strictly a day trader.  He purchases blocks of 1,000 stocks and then sells when they move up $0.50 or down $0.50, or at days end.  Of course, like all of us, he prefers those that move up not down.  The 50 cent club blog is dedicated to him.

Monday saw 770 stocks that had gains of at least 50 cents.

There were no stocks selling for under $2.00 a share that made the list on Monday.

Two stocks sell between $2.00 and $5.00 a share.  They were ( in order of price ): ASBI and GOK.  The stock that had the biggest percentage gain and the biggest dollar gain was Geokinetics Inc ( GOK ) which hit a high of $4.68 up $0.53 or 12.77% at 3:12 with 35,600 shares traded.  It ended the day at $4.51.

Eight stocks sell between $5.00 and $10.00 a share.  They were ( in order of price ): FRG, GG/WS, MEDQ, AVEO, TIVO, PVSA, FFHS and JAG.  The stock seeing the biggest percentage gain was Goldcorp Inc ( GG/WS ) which hit a high of $6.53 up $0.90 or 15.99% at 3:00 with 3,100 shares traded.  It ended the day at $6.4799.  The stock seeing the biggest dollar gain was Aveo Pharmaceuticals Inc ( AVEO ) which hit a high of $8.57 up $0.93 or 12.17% at 2:00 with 9,705 shares traded.  It ended the day at $7.98.
