The ACA: Should I be "long" or "short" healthcare?

November 14, 2013 – Comments (5) | RELATED TICKERS: HQH

The following are some excerpts from a thread over at ZeroHedge:

So the Executive Branch is telling insurance companies to disobey a law passed by the Legislative Branch and upheld by the Judicial Branch?  Sounds kinda impeachy to me.

I didn't realize it was up to [Obama] as to which laws we can and can't follow. Regardless of dear leader's kindness, it's too late.

Right, governance by executive whimsey. No one even bats an eyelash anymore.

Remember DOMA? He chose not to enforce that. Ditto for other laws he didn't care for. It was a small step from not enforcing laws he didn't like to declaring laws he did like but couldn't get through Congress. The same attitude applies to parts of laws, which is how he delayed the employer mandate, etc.

What an embarrassment this puppet is.  His own party is even starting to realize this now.  Obama is without a doubt the worst POTUS in history... no contest.

Thank God there is no document which would constrain the WH to follow the law as written.   I, for one, prefer to be ruled by a king.  Like now.

if you like your healthcare plan you can keep your healthcare plan until  the 2014 elections.  That's clear.

Actually this is a brilliant strategy for Obama. Punt the blame for this mess to the insurance companies. He will say that he told them to help the "folks" who lost coverage and they refused or raised the rates or molest children or something. It might work, at least for a while.

So let me get this straight. First he FORCES individuals to buy a product even if they don't want it or be punished with taxes. Now he is ORDERING private companies to offer a service (that they were forced to cancel nonetheless because of ACA). Can someone please tell me how this man is NOT a tyrant?

I received a letter from BC/BS in Oct. 2012 informing me that my individual plan was being discontinued (due to the requirements of the ACA).  So I purchased a different HSA plan that was supposedly "compliant" with the ACA.  THEN in Oct. of 2013 I received another letter, stating that my NEW policy did not have a high enough deductable to comply with the ACA, so I would again have to choose another policy.  I contacted my local Farm Bureau agent, who had yet to attend the training session to get him up to speed on the new policies, so he wasn't much help.  In less than two weeks, I received a THIRD letter from BC/BS telling me that I could "grandfather" my existing (second) policy, and keep it for another year (at a slightly higher premium) if I technically "renewed" the policy before the end of Dec. 2013.

I "like(d) my plan(s) and intend(ed) to keep" it/them, ...for now...  ...I think?

I will do whatever it takes to stay as far away from the Federal and State exchanges for as long as possible.

This man is allowed to be a tyrant due to the fact that our congress is infected with negrophobia. A disease that causes people to loose all sense of rational logic. They are treated for this affliction with massive doses of political correctness. This is like throwing gas on a fire to extinquish it. The only documented cure for negrophobia is to simply ignore it and do what the law commands be done....
