Does America have the right to consume massively if it doesn't produce near what it consumes?  We can only consume if others are willing to accept our currency....and they only accept our currency because of a perceived production behind it......

Our cities, counties and states are bankrupt....but everyone wants to consume.....and everyone wants a job so they can consume and serve the consumers......many of whom are not producing.

If we keep consuming much more than we produce, pretty soon no one will accept our currency and few will be able to consume anything as we are now shutting down the Gulf.

Who gets the right to consume when America is broke?

The Politicians....the Bankers......the Retired.....the Welfare Recipients....the Unemployed....or the people actually doing the producing....the workers themselves?

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Thursday ordered about 200,000 state workers to be paid the federal minimum wage this month because the state Legislature has not passed a budget, but the state controller is refusing to comply.

WHEN THERE IS NO MONEY...WHO GETS TO CONSUME?  WHAT ABOUT WHEN THERE IS LESS AND LESS PRODUCTION BECAUSE THE BANKERS CUT OFF CREDIT TO A CREDIT DEPENDENT CONSUMPTION ECONOMY?

Will America be compelled to force the world to accept our currency so we can continue to print it and consume?  I think we are about to find out.....

The dollar plunged today following a United Nations report which called for the greenback to be replaced as the global reserve currency by the International Monetary Fund’s special drawing rights (SDRs).

I swear, you are nothing but an agent provocatuer. While we might have to scale back on the gucci consumption, people still need food on their table, clothes on their back and a roof over their heads.  People will always consume.  The only question is "what."  That doesn't mean the country will collapse. We aren't forcing the world to accept anything.  They WANT our currency (quess you never heard the term "flight to QUALITY").

The bankers cut off the people from borrowing and tax receipts evaporated because people consumed much less....then government consumed because bankers loaned it trillions.....

It is only because government is borrowing and spending massively that people still consume........why do you think people in America consume so much and people in the rest of the world consume so little today?  In the past, it was because we produced....now it is because we borrow....but that is getting cut off.

now government is being cut off of credit....Uh On.....the only thing left to do is fight for consumption.

You mean to tell me I should be scared of the people who I have to yell at when the arrow turns green, and they forget to drive? What are the teams gonna be? North Vs South? Haves vs have not's? How many have nots will fight for the haves for food? 

Think I'll just do what I do when there is rush hour traffic. Not attend.

 The silver lining of civil war is the undoing of reverse Darwinism.

Prices will go up as supply contracts....workers will want to get paid more as their money buys less....business will fire workers as consumption goes down with higher prices......production will drop even further......

Until people will do almost anything to obtain necessary consumption....

That is why war is becoming a greater and greater liklihood because it is always easier for a government to fight an outside enemy than its own people.

Like every great empire before us that fell...we simply consumed more than we produced until we ran out of money/production

If that were to happen our nation would shut down....

In war, government can force people to produce for free and contracts are void......my guess is that is the way we are heading....

there is no way the government can fulfill the promises it made to its citizens about how much they thought they could consume...especially since the bankers are cutting off the nation of credt....servicing the debt has become impossible for more and more each day.

This will continue until servicing the debt consumes nearly all dollars and there will be very little left for goods and services.

At that point...my guess is war....and sooner than many think.

Our growing number of retired people are NOT WORKING....

Our college kids can't find jobs......

We are about to fire millions of city, county and state government workers.....

Hundreds of thousands of postal workers are going going gone

Same with hospital workers....

We could go on and on and on.....Food Stamps etc.......

Soon very few will be working......and the even fewer that are will not be able to support the system.

My guess is the only way to force the people to produce will be through war......and consider this most recent QE/bailouts the last supper.

It is much easier to analyze real life than the stock market these days.

Now that government is getting cut off of credit.....the only way for man to consume will be to produce.....and as more and more things shut down because credit is being cut off....the only way for man to produce will be to fight.

Construction has basically shut down...especially private

The Gulf is shutting down....along with the neighboring states

50 Catholic Churches closed in Cleveland last year....and the rust belt is rusting.....

There ain't much left after government, health care, and financial services.....and the only reason these function is because the government can still borrow massively and consume/spend......but spending with little production leads to massive inflation....actually hyperinflation where money will be worthless...

At that point, everyone will be forced to fight for consumption.  It is a mathematical certainty under the current path.

Don't you think the bankers will have a lot of fun watching us kill each other fighting for consumption?
