February 09, 2012 – Comments (17) | RELATED TICKERS: TC

This is the first installment from my recent interview with Thomson Creek Metals CEO Kevin Loughrey.

You'll want to catch the remaining parts, which delve into the numbers for Mt. Milligan and the latest on The existing moly operations.

TC is my fourth largest equity position, and therefore a core strategic holding of mine.

Hope you enjoy the series.

Nice read.  I bought TC mainly for the unrecognized value I saw in Mt. Milligan.  I am patient.

Nice bump in Alexandria today. I'm expecting good things from their first Akasaba resource estimate.

Wow, a net of $450m on top of the moly operations....  TC will be trading much higher in 2-3 years if this project is completed on time, and within budget.

Good but, only 7800 shares traded.  I could have "covered" that volume myself.

I am thinking Sinch has that many in his piggy bank, alone.

I noticed that sky - and I could have covered it as well. It is progress nonetheless.

=)

Miners have been murdered lately. Most of mine have been stop-lossed for profit taking. PPP still by far my largest holding, and heavily underwater now (15%). SLW, and PAAS hanging in there. ALXDF is second largest holding.

I will look to re-enter some this month if theres any sort of pullback. Unfortunately I'm too heavily invested in PPP to double down or I'd consider that.

Time to re-visit research. Thankfully this is a slow month for my work.

Sky... you can't refer to the pink sheets for your volume data. Volume traded on Alexandria today was 383,000 shares; which is slightly more than what I have in my piggy bank.

Bays,

I think a careful read of the article reveals that the on-budget part is no longer plausible for the reasons discussed.

But yes, on-time would be nice, and I do expect the stock will be trading far higher as prodiction approaches.

SN, There might be other news coming down the pike as well. The board has instituted a quiet period, which is not common practice in advance of a resource estimate, and rather suggests something of a strategic nature could be in play.

Not to jinx it - but AZX up 17% on the venture today with 225k traded.  Not a high number but I've noticed a lot more talk around the web about azx recently - more coverage is always a good thing at this point for them.

Sinch any word on when we should expect the NI 43-101?

Horiemon,

There're doing everything they can do get it out during February, but as always the external consultant conducting the estimate ultimately holds the cards.

What's your take on the earnings report released today?  Didn't listen to the CC but someone on Yahoo message board did and didn't think it was going well.  I don't have a big stake in this but tempted to add a little more.  Kind of leery now tho in light of this report.
