The Most Dangerous Investment

The most dangerous investment is not investing in hedge funds, or even in derivatives. Though very risky, investing in penny stocks or day trading is not the most dangerous investment. Neither is investing in gold, or other commodities. Though investing in emerging markets focused on countries with unsettled governments is quite risky, it is still not at the top of the list.

I am a growth investor and I believe that while the emerging markets present a significant amount of risk. They are probably the ones with the best value for money going forward. Even when we look at companies like $AAPL, you've got to say that they are looking at the emerging markets for future growth. Therefore, in as much as we may consider some of these mega-cap stocks as less risky, we are only doing this because the direct exposure to the risks tied to the emerging markets is on them and not the retail investor looking to buy a few hundred shares of the stock.
