A long time ago The Motley Fool was a great resource that was transparent and provided good advice. Now it's just like all the pump and dumps sending out endless crap spam.
Think about it.
Caps really hasn't changed they've always been one to send out a lot of stuff, sometimes too much, even when they have you unable to access they would shamelessly send offers, I was tempted once, but the bad taste left in my mouth from uneven justice and purposeful targeting of certain individuals has tempered such actions.
The sight has tried to improve, the thing is, censorship and selective enforcement has driven people away.
Well thats my 3 cents and I'll stick with it.
Just look at how long it took them to correct the tvix reverse stock split.
On a brighter note, they always have the opportunity to earn business, thing is once you screw someone over, it doesn't play well.
Case in Point...
and a few others i dare not mention.
Transparency and good advice along with kindness is always appreciated, that and realizing that people can have a bad day or need an outlet without persecution or selective bias.
Maybe I don't know what i'm talking about, but once this site was popping, now it's like a zombie apocolapse has run amock and only a few stragglers linger, while afraid to expose themselves for fear of being zombiefied.
I was tempted once, but the bad taste left in my mouth from uneven justice and purposeful targeting of certain individuals has tempered such actions.
All Glory to the Hypnotoad!
in my point of view, the site still be useful. However, you must know how to filter the information and pick up the useful one....
I miss Hypnotoad =(
All glory to the Hypnotoad...O.O
I agree that the majority of the site is full of people who seem too intellectually lazy to determine how fairly valued a company currently is. Seeing a bunch of lemmings pretend to call themselves investors is truly a disgusting site. Almost all of the pitches on CAPS are terribly written or based off of nothing, saying that its a company is a good buy because it is "oversold" or because somebody else on the site gave it a thumbs up. I do believe there is still a lot of value in the site if you know where to look. I am relatively new to the community so I don't know about the good ole days, but it seems like at the present moment most of the people on this site don't know squat about what true investing actually is.
