The Wall of Worry

August 02, 2010 – Comments (2)

I love that phrase - climbing the wall of worry.  It's probably meaningless, but I like to consider it in months and quarters like these.  It's certainly a good model for what's been going on lately, in rather low volume.  If the trend continues to solidify and volumes pick up, that'll be a good indicator of what's to come in 2011.

Yes, there is something soothing about alliteration. I hope that you are having a good week.

The worry seems to be gone for now.  While the MSM seemed worried for a while there, they seem to be very optimistic again.  There's talk of Dow 14K again, many analysts seem to think meeting FY'11 EPS estimates won't be a problem, VIX is tanking, etc...  Money is still flying out of equity mutual funds, so I guess people are still worried.  Once people start piling back in, it will probably be time to get out...of course, who knows if the older boomers will ever put any money back in the market.
