Just read a very interesting quote from a  on the debt crisis. I think it was unintentionally funny, to say the least.

"At a closed conference meeting on Wednesday morning, according to a GOP source, Boehner urged his troops to "get your ass in line" and that he needed his army to support him in order to battle President Obama."

We're at war guys. We're at war.

It is amazing how the Tea Party is moving both parties to some great discussions.  Previously, we would rubber stamped increases.  It is about time people stand up and ask questions.  I have no idea if we are at a dangerous level of debt, but it sure doesn't seem good to be throwing money we don't have at problems.

The notion of "money we don't have" is a fallacy as it's money we'll never have.  You have to balance that idea with borrowing ability against productivity and revenue surpluses.  When the government wants money to fund whatever it is they'd like to fund, they go to the Fed and ask for a loan in the amount and the Fed loans them the amount with interest to be paid back... somehow (lol taxes are bad lol)

In the end, the "money we don't have" argument is nothing more than cliche'd rhetoric meant to equate government spending with the family check book and that simply isn't the case and the vast majority of people fall for it hook, line, and sinker.
