Good Morning Fools,

As most of you know the Motley Fool is donating $.10 to the Thurgood Marshall Academy for every post or reply written on CAPs from a few days ago, until Jan 8th.

Well TMFSinchirana went and brought some attention to this charitable giving idea when he brought it up on his blog and then other Fools started replying. However the other Fools clearly need some help as they are suffering and have gone and replied in "Burma Shave" rhymes, counting and even, myself included, in song.

Some Fools, have added pledges of their own money to Thurgood Marshall. Other Fools, have even pledged money only if the thread reaches 1000 replies.

So please everyone, click on over to TMFSinchirana's blog and add a reply and help out or, if you are Cato, 150 replies and help get that thread to 1000 replies long. And if you feel like it, drop in on Thurgood Marshall's donation webpage and make a small donation of your own, but be sure to mention TMFSinchurana's blog and Foolanthropy when you do.

Thanks to all Fools in advance for adding your pledges or donations to this excellent cause!

The remainder of my pledge kicks in at 1,000 comments as well.

I would just add one caveat ... I have no doubt we will reach 1,000 comments with the outpouring of support we've seen so far. The bigger question is how many more pledges we can accrue before getting there. I'll be sending an article out to the masses Monday seeking additional pledges, so I view it as important that we slow our collective commenting activity if we get above, say, 800 comments today.

Does that sound like a plan?

Thanks again to devoish and to every Fool that has generously pledged to this cause, and to anyone else out there who would like to take part with a pledge of any amount whatsoever ($5?, $10?, $25?, $50?, $100?). The school has maganed to graduate 5 consecutive classes with a 100% college acceptance rate within a Washington DC community where that is definitely not the norm. They are doing something right, and I'm delighted to empower them to impact the lives of additional students through this fundraising challenge.

Thanks also to The Motley Fool for coming up with an excellent focus for this year's Foolanthropy campaign.

Worse still, "Sinchirana" was the "corrected" version of an even more mangled misspelling.

I think we can easily break 2,000 cmments on that single thread next week. Easy. I'm rather amazed at the willingness of the Caps communtiy to put forth the effort. It really says a lot about our community. Even though many of us disagree about investing/political/life decisions, its nice to see hat we can all play nice and get along for a good cause.
