Here's an interesting read about tightwad or frugal.
I am enjoying new found spending power... Got an ipod and a laptop this week :).
I have never liked mac as a computer so a mac laptop never crossed my mind.
The only real data seems to be that tightwads are stupid:
"Rick's team also noticed that tightwads can be lured into spending, say, $5 to get a DVD delivered overnight if the $5 fee was framed as a "small $5 fee." Spendthrifts weren't swayed by that tactic; they went for the $5 fee, whether it was called "small" or not."
That seems to square with my real world observations when people who always stiff me when splitting a bill make appalling decisions with large amounts of money.
congrats! you get a mac laptop to go with your ipod?
I guess I'm frugal based off the link? spending money doesn't make me wince at all, but I prefer to "collect" money. I find it fun for some reason.
man this daylights savings time CAPS error is screwy. Hopefully that will auto correct soon.
I'm a pc guy myself, Macs are nice but not worth the price premium in my mind. Sounds like you made the frugal decision :-)
