Tim Tebow Rules

Hey Fools,

Just thinking about how truly awesome Tim Tebow is.

1. He has created the feeling that God is on his side.

2. He wins more with heart and charisma than talent.

3. He has a very public charity. It does both good for the world and strengthens his status.

4. He is the king of the humble brag. He seems to be very humble but he is an exceptional businessman, a brilliant marketer, fills his website with photos of himself showing off his great physique and talent. He feels he knows the mind of God, who should be President, when life begins, and how humans must live. He is not humble. In fact, I would be shocked if he does not one day run for office. Yet he comes off as the essence of humble. Remarkable.

5. He is particularly devoted to glorifying the military without paying much attention to the carnage of war. This, while he is also devoted to Jesus, whose core messaage as I understand it, is peace and love. It's pure marketing genius. To love both God and the Military guarantees a very, very solid fan base.

6. He seems like not only a very nice guy, but a truly inspired being. He actually seems to glow.

7. His college track record is amazing, and he is currently (though I doubt this will last) a massive force in the NFL.

8. He is a classic American. At our best, we believe we can WILL ourselves to greatness.

Speaking as a Professional Shyster, the man is absolutely one of my all-time biggest heroes. You might even say, nobody does it better.

Richly Deserving,

D. Joshua Rubin

LOL, love it.

I love Tebow. I really do.  What I love is the way he handles himself in the face of irrational hatred.  It's like what that kid at Duke (JJ Reddick) went through times 9 billion.  People hated him simply because he wore a uniform they didn't like, he won, and he was so confident that he didn't give a darn what they thought (the real reason they hated him.)

He does have personal qualities that are inspirational.  He also has beliefs that are simply wrong (love of the military being most prominent, but he is joined in that by 95-99% of Americans.)  But I think he's great.

And he's broken football. Which is hysterical in itself.  There a lot of arrogant people in football, who really think they have competitive sport figured out, and he's turned the whole thing upside down.

Fools - we need to have a Chicago Value Investing Senate. Chicago is - sorry other cities - simply the greatest city in world history. There can be nothing better on God's great majestic earth than Pizza, booze and more pizza. With some booze. I feel for roughly $35.00 per man, we could achieve much more for much less than the Value Investing Congress, which hilariously sends me emails claiming I can knock roughly $1500 or something like that off the "Regular" price. A "regular" price that I will bet no one has ever paid. Shyster Capital Management will be hosting this magnificent event one day. All we will ask is for $50 and for each person to bring a stock idea. There is one rule - the stock must be one people can invest in. Sooooey!

Also, we will sell our picks in a special collectors's napkin set, with booze-drenched scribbling of our very best ideas. All profits will go to help children. In poor countries. With diseases. Because we are good people. And being good is both right and good for business. I'm excited. Summer of 2012. The Value Investing Senate. Watch for it.

Sorry. The Value Investing Senate should probably be more like $150. For the children. To help them. Maybe $250. To really help them. We'll see.
