The more you know about any subject, the less credible the generally accepted world view typically becomes. This becomes obvious to some people the first time they are a part of a story that gets reported in the newspaper, and they realize the story was wildly inaccurate.

On many subjects, sometimes I wish I could choose to go back and take the blue pill, rather than learn the gory details that the “man on the floor” always knew, but was never really reported in MSM.

A great example would be the video that surfaced today showing chicks ground up alive at an egg hatchery

Since male chicks are not needed, apparently around 200 million male chicks a year are tossed alive into grinders.

Seriously, I just want to eat my breakfast in peace!

I have now had enough.

I don’t want to know what happens to these chickens! I don’t want to hear about banker’s bonuses!

Just set the TV on Gossip Girls and leave me alone!

They taste better when first thrown into a grinder.

So...............You didn't want to know.  But now that your know, you figured you'd share with others who also prefer ignorant bliss so they know what you didn't want to know in the first place.  You sir, disgust me.

no problem devo... I use too much sarcasm, I am told... (I have never watched a Gilmore girls eepisode, btw)

Varchild - You have me thinking now... what are they doing with all these ground up chickens? Surely they have to be good for something. Maybe I can start a new business!

I guess the downside would be if we found something that ground up baby chickens were good for, we would then have to INCREASE the slaughter of baby chickens to supply my newly created industry... I'll leave it alone.

the thought was not lost on me... but since my post was heavily sarcasm laced, I do in fact want to know, even though it is a bit disgusting.

p.s. I liked your blog today (end is near...) and I rec'd the hypnotoad (I dont usually, but I watched a futurama episode featuring hypnotoad yesterday)

The hypnotoad being a higly rated blogger who has never said anything but all glory to the hypnotoad is helpful to me, because it keeps me from ever wanting to work really hard on bloggiong here, only to someday maybe pass the hypnotoad?

tony,

Thanks for the reply.  I agree that knowing is probably better than not.  Seems like a waste of a perfectly good male chicken that could someday be used for cock fighting or other worthy endeavor.

I don't understand the HypnoToad, maybe I am just jealous of his prowess here on CAPS.

Until now the most horrific thing I had ever seen was sharkwater. I was horrified to see that they were cutting off the fins and tossing the sharks back in the water ALIVE to die slowly over days and even weeks. BEWARE if you watch it you will be sick before it is over!

Thankfully, I don't eat shark fin soup so I'm not supporting that industry.

This story is now the most horrific thing I have ever seen because I am supporting it every time I eat eggs :-(

I am not a vegetarian but I don't believe in torture, suffering and waste. I don't know how the people with jobs like this can live with themselves.
