Hey lquadland10 -- Thank you for the thoughtful post on this day.  What you want to do when you paste the embed code from another site is select the text you just pasted and then click the little "Unlink" icon at the top of the comment box.  What is happening is that our software is recognizing your post as a link instead of an image. We have some of our best Fools currently working on our comment software that should address this and other issues.

I've embedded the image I think you were shooting for above.  Fool on! Orkut MySpace Hi5 Scrap Images Thank You Comments

Severed what? The heads of innocent Iraquis?? I don't get this whole deference to soldiers/police/public servants. They clearly KNEW when they signed up what they were getting themselves into. If you thought you'd be living it up at home in the National Guard then you joined for the wrong reasons, being sent to the hell-hole of Afghanistan was the clear result of you signing your soul away to a government that has repeatedly shown it cannot be trusted. I'm a beach lifeguard and have saved dozens of lives over my 8 years working and do I get any thanks? For actually saving lives?? And believe me I am risking mine when the person I need to save is a thrashing 200-pound person who has no idea how to swim and has no business being anywhere past waist-deep. Do I get cheaper tickets at the movie theater? Do I get generous discounts on my groceries? Do I get HOUSING ASSISTANCE?? And listen, I'm not whining, I'm fine with not receiving any praise. It's my JOB, I knew what I was getting into when I signed up, and I feel that my paycheck is enough of a gift without people prostrating themselves in honor of my services.
