To drill or not to drill that is the question ....

  I am for protecting the environment ... but I also believe we should drill our waters for the black gold.  Look at the brew ha-ha that occurred over fishing in territorial waters of many countries INCLUDING USA vs Canada over the George's Bank. 

  Has anyone considered that another country may decide to COVERTLY drill within the USA territorial limits ...    Did anyone pay attention to China contracting with CUBA to search off the Cuban coast for crude ... just a stone's throw from the USA.  AND how would we KNOW ... most likely we'd only find out when something goes wrong and RESULTS IN THE SPILL we're looking to avoid ...    Or, maybe it'll be someone noticing crude carriers showing up just outside USA territorial limits and leaving full of crude ...   Of course, they're not going to show up empty ... else they'd be bobbing like a cork on the ocean ... so they'd either have to have someplace to offload their ballast ... or just dump it in the ocean.  You don't want contaminated ballast dumped in the ocean ...     

   So, do we drill and protect our interests by doing so??  Or, do we not drill and risk that someone else decides IT"S THEIRS FOR THE TAKING?

Hey I agree with the idea's,but you should know our Satellites would pick any " Suspect" Drilling off the coast up.As for Drilling to me it's sad some woman..Nancy pelosi..who needs more lipstick..yikes.Has any power at All to hold this whole proces and the country up so obama can get some votes when she,allows a vote on offshore drilling..What a piece of ..she is.Yeah the dems reply oh we've given them millions of acres to drill ..yeah where...where theres no OIL..whew.I'm not sure of the stats but wouldn't they have been drilling those acres if they had oil..sure they would,Very Lame on Dems part.there is some very interesting plays on oil,Bio fuels..GAS and as I/We noted the SEA ETF.I added a comment there as to why it's got a possible bottom under it now.pls check,in my reply to myself..hehe.I am a Vet and still in,,whew..84-98,then back in agin 3 years ago.Had a Cardiac arrest and am still in,Nat Guard.but with a profile..whew.Anyways not sure what you have to invest,but use and ETF or a put to cover your downside.this market and future unraveling isn't even close to being done.And huge market swings until housing bottoms to be expected/Also the NEW president will determine alot..obama wants to tax oils,And Dividends/Capital gians...so until thats Decided even those Good type companies aren't yet a safe place.Hope this Helps some.take care..I'll look for the commies off cape cod soon..hehehe Whoa.:} Happy Trails.

  First I want to thank you for your military service. 

 I enlisted during Vietnam, drove my mom crazy when she found out it was for Combat Infantry with Airborn and Ranger training.  I figured if I was going to be a target, then I wanted to learn everything that would increase my survival.  Didn't realize the Army would send me out on patrols, alone, looking for 18 man enemy patrols.  Saved my EERs.  Every now and then Iook at those EERs and try to figure out what I was thinking .... Roving Patol, ALONE, vs 18 men armed with machine guns and  automatic weapons. 

   The Investment world is not unlike combat, you have to know A LOT to survive, so I thank the Army for the education on survival that you just can't get from a book. 

    As for our satellites, current drilling rigs include semi-submersibles,  but sooner or later, someone is going to attach a drilling rig to a submarine ,,, then watch out...
