Tom Gardner's Foolanthropy challenge

December 07, 2009 – Comments (8)

Gather around, Fools.

Fool co-Founder Tom Gardner has upped the ante in a big way!

He has pledged an additional $1,000 to the Thurgood Marshall Academy on two conditions:

A.) That we generate at least 2,000 comments through the Giving With Every Comment blog post. If you have not played a role in this spontaneous community effort as yet, please be sure to stop in and share a comment or 20 ... and feel the unmatchable satisfaction of doing your part to support a wonderful cause.

B.) The comments from this point forward must incorporate a greater emphasis upon discussion of financial topics that can provide a resource for TMA students to refer to when exploring related topics throughout the coming year.

I know this community is up to the challenge, and I for one pledge to share my $0.02 to create $0.10 as many times as humanly possible. Please ... with all the insight that you collectively share ... join me.

Although I had been saving up lots of useless things to say/blog about... Ugh, thinking about serious stuff is soooo hard!

You can still toss in some silly stuff for good measure. :)

There's got to be a way to somehow relate Farting Bunny to a balance sheet and I think I'm just the woman to do that. Ha! Kidding. ;) Yeah, I'm in. (Good thing I already got the excerpt from the snowman song in there before Stage 2, ha!)

Chris, I have to bow out at comment 1459.  My computer is not up to the task of continuing.  Can you negotiate a blog part 2??

We can start a Part II for sure, but we'll have to keep Part I alive as well since I just wrote an article linking to it. :)

I'll get Part II started immediately. Great suggestion, and thank you for your amazing energy!

Part II is up, but I plead with those Fools whose computers are up to the task to continue on with the original post... I have an article out soon that links to it, so we need to keep momentum there to generate fresh pledges.

Thank you!
