There is an old adage regarding the super bowl winner and the stock market year end finish.  Generally when a team from the old National Football Conference wins, the stock market finishes higher, and when a team from the old American Football Conference wins the stock market finishes lower.

Now bulls might root for the Giants, problem is that last time these two teams played each other in a super bowl the Giants won (2008) and we had one of the greatest crashes in history.

Well, there's the other one about rising and falling hemlines. If hemlines trend up this year, we will be good. I daresay that you keep an eye on the spring collection for indicators on direction.

Another one is sales of women's shoes. The years with increases is suppose to be good for the market.

And another one: men's underwear sales as a consumer conference indicator.

-1 rec for all these useless indicators -- including mine.  :)

I like Fleabagger's annual cat-bowl, over any trend lines on the Superbowl.  Crushing, painful, disappointing loss for us NE fans, but in the end, it's just a game.  I put no money into it (outside of groceries).  There's always next year, and in true New England fashion - GO BRUINS!!! :)
