UN Climate Delegates Seek to Bankrupt the US and Ban Water

December 08, 2010 – Comments (4)

Just when it looked safe to jump back into the markets.

There are a string of very odd stories related to crazy UN Climate efforts on the net. Example: they want to levy the shipping industry for emissions and give the money to developing countries. But, its more than disturbing when climate delegates would sign a petition to encourage US Trade Bans and [wait for it] seek to Ban Water.

Our tax dollars at work ;)

Shipping Faces Calls to Lower Its Carbon Footprint

“At the start of this year, Connie Hedegaard, the E.U. commissioner for climate action, warned the 169 countries that are members of the I.M.O. that they would “have to speed up compared to what they used to do earlier on” to tackle their carbon footprint.”

“She pledged to impose regulations — possibly in the form of a trading system or a mandatory carbon levy — if the industry failed to come up with a plan to reduce its emissions by the end of next year.”

“Another initiative that could hasten tighter rules for the industry is a Web site created by Carbon War Room, a private group backed by Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group.”

“The site,, is to be inaugurated Monday at the U.N. Climate Change Conference in Cancún, Mexico, and will provide efficiency details about 60,000 vessels including the majority of the world’s container ships, tankers, bulk carriers, cargo ships, cruise ships and ferries.”

“But some of the partners in the shipping project, like the German company SkySails, do stand to gain from the initiative. Greater demand for environmentally friendly and economically efficient shipping technologies “is what the launch of will help make possible,” said Stephan Wrage, chairman of SkySails.”

"Mr. Wrage’s company markets giant kites to harness the wind and help propel oceangoing vessels while reducing fuel use and cutting emissions."

Hey llcx!

It's getting freaking warm!

What have thermometers strapped on tombstones all over the world that prove it!

The solution is for you to give me some money.

Plants are green and they suck up carbon.

Being that our money is green as well, you should hand a bunch of it to me and I'll suck up some carbon with it.

Hey Chris,

Thanks for commenting.

Yeah, we're in a cooling cycle possibly for the next 30 years while the last of the Alarmists attempt to redistribute wealth via the UN and undermine free trade.

Its turning into quite the mess for free enterprise, free trade, and freedom of speech.

The really scary part is the proposed One world UN government. They must be nuts if they think the US is going to accept this nonsense.

The abdication of the West

from Viscount Monckton of Brenchley, Cancun, Mexico, Dec 9th, 2010

"I usually add some gentle humor to these reports. Not today. Read this and weep. Notwithstanding the carefully-orchestrated propaganda to the effect that nothing much will be decided at the UN climate conference here in Cancun, the decisions to be made here this week signal nothing less than the abdication of the West. The governing class in what was once proudly known as the Free World is silently, casually letting go of liberty, prosperity, and even democracy itself. No one in the mainstream media will tell you this, not so much because they do not see as because they do not bl**dy care."
