[Update1] Geeknet Divests ohloh. The Minds Behind Ohloh.net Failed to Turn Geeknet GKNTs World Class Open Source Assets Into Something Extraordinary. What's Next for SourceForge.net and Slashdot.org

Note: This topic was originally posted February 20, 2010.  On October 5, 2010 there was an announcement re: Geeknet's Ohloh sale to Black Duck. See (October 16, 2010) [Update2] Geeknet (GKNT) Announces Sale of Ohloh.net to Black Duck Software.  Issues of fact: Geeknet failed in maximizing shareholder value and monetizing its May 2009 acquisition of ohloh. The former founder of ohloh is the current Chief Product Officer of GKNT. The compelling question then is: What's Next for SourceForge.net and Slashdot.org?

The original February 20th 2010 post...

(February 20, 2010)  >>#11 [1]. Ohloh.net. How has ohloh.net contributed to: Geek.net's contribution margins?, ROE?, revenue growth?, sourceforge.net's competitive strategy? and competitive advantage?, brand equity?

The q4 Feb 11 2010 CC has come and gone but this remains a if not [the] key question(s), all related to ohloh.net and SourceForge.net [and Geeknet (LNUX)'s real [pv] Future.

Q: What/When are the minds behind ohloh.net doing to turn SourceForge.net , slashdot.org,  freshmeat.net,  ohloh.net itself, {? ... ?} into something extraordinary...into a Viral Loop?  The presupposition being that needs to happen. It not only needs to happen but it is a given, vis-a-vis a mathematical identity e.g. 0 + 0  = 0.  The answer to this question and below related subpoints represents Geeknet (LNUX)s Future and pv

               * SourceForge.net competitive position vis-a-vis  launchpad.net,  github.net,  codeplex.com,  google code...(will Geeknet acquire Github? or enter into strategic alliances with launchpad?). Why hasn't SF aggressively pursued establishing a World Class  "Mobile (iPhone, Android, WIndows7....) Apps" Projects section/competition?

               * Establishing a mind-blowing World Class ohloh-sourceforge-slashdot-freshmeat Web 2.0+ / Viral [Expansion] Loop Feedback ecosystem.

I am thinking this is what Scott CollisonJason AllenAndy VerprauskusRobin Luckey, et al are up to/thinking about. But this is [the] Geeknet (LNUX) ten-bagger question.

chaosUnplugged, Motley Fool #1 Leader, Red Hat (RHT) and Citrix (CTXS) picks.

"Google Code is more Powerful than SourceForge

"...Examples like this now make Google Code more powerful than Sourceforge, in my opinion. If you’re an ambitious programmer, you want to be working where your work might be seen by people who can do you some good. Google Code has become off-Broadway. Sourceforge is Philadelphia..." Comment: ...so why hasn't Geeknet acquired github.net yet?
