Utilities you say?
I've found myself doing a lot of nodding when I read Bill Gross' investment commentaries/outlooks. That's why I found it particularly interesting when he was hyping utilities in his most recent commentary.
He didn't specifically include telecoms in this commentary but with telecoms like Verizon yielding 6.1%, I can't help but lump them in with that as well. After all, at this point are most telecoms really more than telephone/wireless utilities?
My own personal word of caution though, for equity investors, not all utilities are created equal though. If you're going to go that route, make sure that you're looking at companies with good capital positions and the ability to increase their divvy payout over time.
