Everything in QUOTES is from an article MARKOS MOULITSAS wrote recently straight off the front page of www.dailykos.com.    Last Article/Portion in Quotes, though, is from JOAN McCarter.

[Markos quoting Atrios in Midday Open Thread] " Atrios:

As emptywheel points out, it's a bit inartful to claim the administration "got our economy moving again." As with Recovery Summer, it's at best poor messaging and at worst a failure to understand that... the economy sucks."

[Markos continues...]
"...Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, which Republicans remain steadfastly committed to...they admit it would "dig the hole deeper" on the deficit."

[Markos continues...]
"If the White House thinks their problems are reserved among a handful of progressive critics, then I'm afraid, because it tells me they're really out of touch with the undercurrent of discontent faced by Democrats this year.

The unemployment rate is brutal, while high-profile cave-ins to nefarious interests, like the Cornhusker Kickback during the health care debate did more to drive the Democrats' numbers down than any blog post or MSNBC segment ever did.

It may be easier to blame the dirty [censored] hippies and kick them in the face, but that sure won't address the root cause of Democratic malaise"

Joan McCarter wrote on the passage of a $26 Billion Dollar "jobs bill",

"Saves and creates more than 319,000 American jobs – including teachers, nurses, firefighters, and police officers;"

-------Varchild.... Those are GOVERNMENT jobs... No Private Sector benefit here------

"Is fully paid-for by closing costly corporate tax loopholes that allow corporations to ship American jobs overseas;"

----Varchild.....Closing Loop Holes on Private Sector Business =  "Tax Hikes" on outsourcing jobs..... and using the money to fund GOV'T jobs.

"Reduces the deficit by $1.4 billion, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office. "

-----Varchild..... Joan and Markos need to connect the dots.  They can't have it both ways and expect the economy to improve and the deficit to shrink:

A)  MARKOS Agrees the Economy stinks.

B)  MARKOS does'nt want to extend Bush Tax Cuts for Corporations.

C)  MARKOS wants to Raise Taxes on Outsourcing Jobs.

CONNECT THE DOTS!   MARKOS!!!

You want to HIKE TAXES on any American Business for Outsourcing Jobs and HIKE TAXES on any American Business for hiring jobs here in America?

Ultimately, Corporations get SOAKED whether they hire abroad.....or here at home.

IF you can not connet the DOTS, MARKOS.....then you should have learned Economics on the Army's Dime instead of German.
