Vote for me for President in 2012!

You might not know me, I'm the new presidential candidate for the foolish party.

Let me tell you a little about my platform.

I believe first and foremost in strengthening the weakest links in our economic system.

I believe in government, corporate and individual fiscal responsibility.

I believe in education.

I believe in supporting our nation's children and senior citizens.

I believe in limiting both government spending and regulation on individuals and businesses and a balance of rights between individuals and businesses.

I believe in a "hand up" over a "hand out".

I believe that the government has an obligation to represent the individual over any monopoly. I also believe that the government should provide a platform for consumers to discuss their experience with a company.

I believe that information should be free.

I believe that the economy should trickle up and not trickle down.

I believe that fiscal responsibility should be taught to children beginning in Kindergarten and ending in their senior year.

Above all I believe that America can be saved and prosper! (Kisses babies and shakes hands)

OK, I'm looking at this as a series of blog posts. I'm assuming that the economy is still in bad shape in 2012, but showing true signs of recovery. I'm also assuming that I'm elected. Here's part of the plan. I'll post more later.

Pre-inauguration, I gather every bit of dirt I can find on every congressman, senator, governor and state representative. I'll need this when the fighting begins.

Day 1) I call an emergency meeting of both the congress and the senate, but I don't tell them what it's about. I invite the press and once everybody is seated, I surround the building with military and  I don't allow anyone to leave without permission. Today we renounce the constitution! I propose a law that from this point on, the United States should be run as a corporation and every citizen will be a shareholder. To make sure that I have the backing of the citizens, I announce that if this passes, all federal taxes will be repealed and citizens are entitled to any dividends that are earned. I then encourage voters to go to www.usafool.com and vote for their opinion on that, which will create an email forwarded to their legislators. Then I open the floor to comments from the politicians. The first politician that voices an opinion against the plan gets clobbered! I start with his/her pork barrel spending, but bring up every piece of dirt I have. I follow up with if they were responsible legislators in the old system, this wouldn't be necessary, but that they can't be trusted and don't have the best interests of the people that voted for them in mind. I then reveal my government compensation program. All politicians including myself get paid in FoolUSA stock. If the voter doesn't make money, they don't make money! I open up the floor again, and clobber anyone else that goes up against me. It's very important that I emphasis that the voters are in charge of this process. I explain to the voters, that I won't release their representatives until this vote happens unless the people vote to allow them to leave. I'll make exceptions for age, health, etc.., but if they leave, a vote will happen without them. I think it will get approved because a lot of representatives will think they can dodge the system easily, but they will find out soon enough that they were wrong. If they do manage to vote it down, I start a campaign with the public for it, and call a vote again and again until it happens. The whole time I'm campaigning, I'm prosecuting government fraud and making sure it's a headline every day.

I'll continue this later. Please remember this is only step 1, so I hope you'll hold negative comments until you get a bigger picture. If you have comments to add to my platform, please do! I'm responsive to the voting public.

I'm going to regret this...

For starters, surrounding the Capital with the military would violate Posse Comitatus.  Since military officers take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution and are only bound to obey lawful orders, it's highly probably your military commanders would refuse the order.

Sometime early in Day 1 you could expect to be impeached.

Sounds like you're proposing a dictatorship with you as dictator.  Even if you're a benevolent dictator, the good times only last until someone defeats you or overthrows you.

No thanks.

I don't agree with everything you say, such as locking politicians in the Capital, but you'd still get my vote. Anybody would be better than Bush or Obama.  I hope that you wouldn't drop all charges against a militarist hate group that threatened people at a polling place with weapons and intimidated voters, as Obama and his Attorney General did today.
