For about a year and a half, Alstry and The Institute of Alstrynomics has been posting about the deteriorating jobs environment.

Since that time, over 6 million Americans are now unemployed and 10 million Americans are only working part time who were working full time......

In addition, tens of millions of Americans who are self employed like Real Estate Agents, Mortgage Brokers, Builders, Small Business Owners, and Consultants have seen their incomes evaporate....

SINCE 90% of taxes WERE paid by the top quintile of wage earners....we are now seeing tax receipts evaporate as many millions of higher income Americans lose most or all of their incomes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In return....we have seen a MASSIVE INCREASE in the number of people receiving UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS, WELFARE, AND FOOD STAMPS. 

Now over 30 million Americans are receiving Food Stamps costing over $40 Billion per year.   It is very likely that a material part of WalMart's Sales comes simply from Food Stamp recipients and others on government assistance.

Basically the Taxpayer is directly or indirectly largely responsible for much of WalMart's profits from government handouts.  If this trend continues, WalMart should have explosive growth going forward as many Americans will be forced to move away from higher priced retailers to much more efficient government subsidized WalMart.

So here you have it....the one company that is perfectly positioned for a low income government subsidized America....WalMart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only problem now is who is going to finance the Trillions of Dollars necessary to maintain a Welfare State that is not producing much????????  Sorta like a Ponzi Scheme don't ya think???

You would think those foreign nations might be better off loaning the money to their own citizens rather than unemployed Americans who are already leveraged.

If we don't resturcture soon, there won't be much to restructure....just ask GM bondholders who wished they restructured a few years earlier.

In the meantime....watch how WalMart benefits as Americas wages evaporate.......

This is completely delusional.  You fail to show a shred of evidence that this is the case for Wal-Mart.  Wal-Mart will have explosive growth because of their business model, not some fictional claim that food stamps are keeping them in business.  Sheesh!

The government hands out about $40B in Food Stamps alone.

What percentage of those Food Stamps are spent at Wal Mart?

Now factor in Walfare and Unemployment payments.....

Now the numbers are really getting BIG!!!!!!!!!!!!

Based on your logic, any discount retailer in existance can attribute their profitability to the government.

Here's entertainment.  Today the local Stewart's Convenience Store has posted a rather large sign on the front door announcing they are accepting FOOD STAMPS.  Huh.  I've never seen that before.  What COULD it mean?????

They've got to get the money directed into productive sectors ASAP. I couldn't agree with you more Alstry, if the numbers continue to lean towards supporting non-producers (i.e. welfare sectors), we are going to find ourselves nose deep in shyt lickety split!

 It was my biggest gripe with Bush. Bombs and homes are not productive sectors of the economy. THEY BOTH NEED PRODUCTIVE JOBS TO SUPPORT THEM!! We borrowered trillions to go on that damn tangent!! All in the name of being Patriotic. As you would say...."Simply Amazing"

Based on the historically low readings in the fictional photon spectrometer.....coupled with the Federal Government's unprecedently large borrowing needs.....it looks like Ghoser is getting very tired and down to 5000 we go!!!!

WalMart grew because they offered one-stop-shop to those that recieved government checks. Their low prices concept works for these people, and others. They purposely low-ball about 1500 to 2000 items; ie, milk, cheese, etc. Everything else you can find at lower prices and higher quality. Its a great concept, but without those government checks, they may not have seen the explosive growth.
