We Have a Winner! (CAPS Contest UPDATE)

It's been 3 months since we launched our CAPS Champion of the World Contest, which means we finally have our first quarter winner (who will win a 1-year membership to Global Gains). But before we get to just who that is, I want to thank the 400 of you who have entered thus far and encourage to to get others to sign up.

Why? Because we have three more fabulous prizes to hand out. (Yes, I know, adding others to the contest will diminish your chances of winning, but c'mon, be a pal.)

And now for the winner
As per the rules, this quarter's winner was best-performing player who (i) rated at least one Official CAPS Champion of the World Contest Idea each quarter and (ii) at least one stock from the International Stocks tag that you find on your own each quarter as well. That means we had a few dq's at the very top of the scorecard because those players failed to rate any of our official ideas.

Thus, this quarter's winner (the top-player as of close Thursday who had followed the rules) is IBDvalueinvestin. Congratulations! Please email me at thanson@fool.com with your name and mailing address so we can activate your one-year GG membership. I hope you enjoy it.

And if you're desertdreams or another high-performing player who has yet to rate an official idea (which, again, are posted Thursdays on this blog), then make sure you do so so you're eligible to win in Q2.

And if you haven't joined the contest yet, well, what are you waiting for. Do it here. Rules are here.

"at least one stock from the international stock tab' . I thought that ALL of our picks had to come from that tag . Am I wrong?

pussygato, i think the implication is that we are allowed to pick international stocks that are not yet listed under the international stock tab.

For example, Home Systems Group (HSYT.OB) is an international business with its headquarters in China, but the company hasn't been linked to the CAPs tab yet.
