This week was not great again. The S&P tried to pitch me some help by closing Friday at 1691.42, which was loss of 1.07% on the week.
EPL Oil & Gas (EPL) - Closed Friday 8/9 at $34.18 which was down 1.87% on the week. This underperformed the S&P by .8%. The buying signals on this one are starting to wane with only 2 of 3 still showing buy. This probably wasn't that smart of a pick as EPL had a huge week the previous week and it's typically tough for a stock to continue to push higher after a run like that. Still not an awful result but not at all what I'm looking for.
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR) - Closed Friday 8/9 at $78.17 which was a gain of .08%. This beat the S&P by 1.15%. I'm actually a little surprised by this one as it had a really volatile week. Again, this one doesn't look as rosy moving forward either.
Rosetta Resources (ROSE) - Closed Friday 8/9 at $46.11 which was a loss of 3.70% on the week. This underperformed the S&P by 2.63%. This one suffered the same fate as EPL in that the entire oil and gas sector got murdered this week. 2 of the 3 buy signals have also turned to sell, and the price is very close to the 30 day SMA, so the future of ROSE in the short term doesn't look very rosy.
With this week I drop to 9 of 14 with my picks versus the S&P and 4 of the stocks having a loss. Assuming equal investments I'd still be up dollar wise but I'd like to see my accuracy stay in the 65-70% range.
