Hi Everybody,

This post is just some random observations. So if your looking for some great insight into Mr. Markets wild gyrations.

Move along-

Nothing to see here.

First- why no nominations for the Feste-

2010 Feste Award Nominations Open!

I'll try putting up a nomination, I just know that it's going to take me forever. I'm not as computer savy as most of you folks.

Second- Whats to stop me from setting up a shell company of myself. Ticker- GHOST produce legitimate earnings that can be documented. But the assets could be moved from the shell company (GHOST) to the legitimate entity (myself) at any time?

Third- Has TMF ever considered a sarcasm font. I always enjoy joking around wth fellow Fools, but often the intent is lost over the internet. (pretty sure I've set the record for abuse of the smiley face emodicom :)

Forth- Legalize it! I put down the bong a looong time ago but I can't understand the absurdity of waging a war on a natural substance, costing taxpayers billions.

Were just empowering the criminals, when it could be a desparatly needed revenue for states.

Fifth- Watching Resovoir Dogs on IFC they did'nt cut it but theres commercials (hope this is'nt a trend for cable stations)

Sixth- What if six turned out to be nine?

Seventh- Is it just me or is Goldman sachs the root of all evil.

Eitgth- With AIG hopping along as their hand toady.

Ninth- What if six turned out to be nine? I don't mind

Tenth- Go Steelers.

I keep my transactions to a quarterly timeframe. I plunk what cash I can every month into my brokerage account. When I've finished collecting my dividends for the quarter I decide what I'm gonna buy new or add to.

For this period I added to my Nucor Corp NYSE;NUE position.

Have you heard of the Money Show in Orlando FL?

Well the Motley Fool is there and thursday evening I had the chance to visit with Tom Gardner and some other Fools at their Meet-n-Greet. I live only 2 hours away so I took the opportunity to go and make it back for work the next day.

While others were imbibing in adult beverages I declined since I was driving and not staying overnight at the convention center hotel. Can you believe they had a StarBucks vending machine?! I thought that was very cool. I could see those in more places than hotels. It ground and brewed the cup right there. And of course took my money.

Anyway there must have been about 30 to 40 people there for the Meet-n-Greet. A wide gamut of personalities and investing experience there. When Tom Gardner got there a group gathered around him, hanging on his every word.

I'm going back today (saturday) for one of the Motley Fool's presentations and browse the rest of the Money Show. The Fool has a booth where they'll sell you a Foolish Jester Cap! I'm gonna get one. :-)

I like the fact that you do your investments quarterly, puts a certain discipline to it something I desparately need. I've been reflecting on 2010 and it really was'nt that great a year for me. I'm a contrarion so I was haveing trouble stock picking when things did'nt look like outrageous bargins.

My conclusion was to go back to keeping it simple. I think that should work better for me in 2011.
