Well, Advanced Battery Tech. (ABAT) hit another milestone today so I felt compelled to blog about it.  I'm not talking about it being on the Best Market Movers list today (up 20%) though that is noteworthy -- speaking of which, two of my underperform picks made the Worst Market Movers list also (LAUD.OB and PPBV.OB) and my CAPS score jumped 9% yet my rating didn't budge {sigh}.

Anyway, what I'm talking about is that for the first time in a long time the number of all-star outperforms exceed all-star underperforms (91-85).  Part of that is from players with outperforms who achieved all-star status today.  The rest if from people getting on the bandwagon when they saw the stock make the Best Market Movers list.  Three all-stars gave it a green thumb today.  The nay-sayers continue to have no clue about this stock.   The most recent red-thumber, goldminingXpert proclaims, "Advanced money-losing technology at work here." even though the company hasn't reported a loss is over two years (operations really began in earnest 3 1/2 years ago and have grown at a triple-digit rate since then).

This blog discussed the article that points out stocks that recently moved from 3-star to 4-star status actually outperform 4-star and 5-star stocks.  With ABAT swiftly moving towards 3-star status could 4-stars be far behind?  Could you benefit by getting in a bit earlier?

With oil skyrocketing, new car fueling tech is making headlines just about every day.  Honda is launching their new fuel-cell car.  All of the majors are talking about the hybrids and electric vehicles they will be putting out over the next few years (several have mentioned the need for more battery production -- lithium-ion in particular).  Jay Leno is showing off his new Tesla Roadster.  Jim Cramer hasn't touched on the battery stocks yet but he recently highlighted SQM which is the worlds largest supplier of lithium.

Could this be the time for battery stocks to shine?  Perhaps you might want to add ABAT to your portfolio before you discover it under the hood of your next car.

There is one more ABAT milestong coming up.   ABAT will be added to the Russell 3000 and Russell 2000 indexes when they're reset at the end of this month.
