Where do the picks come from?

Top CAPS players have short positions on fraudulent stocks like HEB and endeavor power

Where do they find information on these stocks before they start to drop?

Where do you find information on stocks trading in the $1-$10 poised to drop or take off?

Oh, come on. APWR has been a "favorite" of mine since last year.

There are people who specialize in this kind of thing. But if you want to try it, it is as simple as going to MSN Money and  using their screener to screen for small-cap companies that are up 300% in the last 10 days. You red-thumb them. Voila.

Another good place to look is IBD's low priced stocks. In fact, pretty much the whole IBD top100 is a prime shorting list. You just need to be patient and wait until they start rolling over.

Neither of your examples is fradulent, maybe you just need to learn more about stocks/investing.  CAPs is a good place to start.

Try the CAPs main page at least once each day.  You'll see the 5 biggest gainers and 5 biggest losers.  In many cases, but not always, if you can hit a POP at the top, it will often back track to fill. If you can hit a drop at the bottom, it MAY recover.  You can do the same thing with the after hours and pre-market biggest movers, any stocks that have a trading halt, flagging a dozen or more of the top players in your favorites and checking in each day to see their last pick, best and worse for the day.

There are hundreds of other ways.  They all take time and effort. Don't just dogpile onto others, read the 10Q's look at the balance sheets...etc.

Good luck.
