Where will Santa get his toys and 11,000 more looking for work

December 11, 2008 – Comments (5)

One of Alstry's favorites goes down without notice.....a very sad day in toyland.
The number 2 toy retailer and one of my favorite places to visit.  And two weeks before Santa comes so they can liquidate before Christmas.  The cause....a "sudden" drop in sales....who coulda foreseen this?????

Over 277 stores and 11,000 jobs......gone!!!!  Founded in 1922 and dead in 2008.  Do you think these guys and gals were counted in the unemployment numbers?

KB made it through The Great Depression but The Greatest Depression got em.

The going out of business sales starts immediately.  If you see any elves there, tell them Alstry says  hi.

If things keep going at this rate, we need to start thinking about a substitute communications system to keep everybody up to date. Who knows until when the Fool will be here.

Telegraph, smoke in the air, cv may need to muff your voice.

As far as KB closing.....I went there so I could play.  It has a great selection of toy cars.

so to hell with them. When they accept $3 an hour, someone will hire them to make toys here and they will live happily ever after.
