As with any year, a new hot product or key discovery will create some multi-baggers in 2010. These cases are nearly impossible to perdict. HGSI in 2009 is an example. M&A will heat up, but those will mostly be short-term, double-digit gains rather than multi-baggers.

I expect 2010 to be a flat-to-down year, so shorting high P/E stocks that have had a run more of hope than fundamentals are a good choice at market peaks.

For long, fundamental picks, I choose Chinese ag and food companies. I predict both Chinese and Americans will eat throughout 2010. FEED, SEED, HOGS, and ALN bought on pull-backs could be multi-baggers during 2010.

Longer term, expect increased foreign competition in key industries. Textiles, autos, steel, and rubber have been eroded. The businesses of Monsanto and Boeing are targeted and inroads are being made. At some point, expect a low-priced Windows operating knock-off to put the hurt on MS. Multi-baggers will arise with each successful penetration of a lucrative established U.S. market.

When you say "multi" I think at least a 3-fold increase, which is quite a challenge.

IMMU-they have a lupus drug in the pipeline, decent pipeline of other drugs, reasonable financials (for a biotech), stock is at resistance now. They have monoclonal antibody technology. I think they are potential takeover material, though i never buy with that hope alone.

If we are talking "doubles". The I also like SPPI for two drugs for which i expect to see good growth. I like the chances of positive results on their bladder cancer drug (Phase 3) in 2010.

Going way out on a iimb...GNVC for more than a 3x increase for potential positive pancreatic cancer drug results in the next few months. True, this one would surprise many people but then so did HGSI.

LXRX for more than a double because of likely undervaluation of it's potential to develop new treatments with a novel genetic mouse model. Recent positive Phase 2 results for their irritable bowel syndrome drug confirm the potential of their discovery technology. Decent pipeline of Phase 2 candidates.

And I think with that, I've put my neck out quite far enough!

I don't imagine there will be many 2+ baggers in 2010 (outside of the tiniest sub $10M stocks).

I have been accumulating shares since under $1.40.  Have been touting this one to fools for awhile In my blogs. I hope ALL FOOLS take advantage of this stock price while Its still under 2 bucks....    Here are some links....... http://caps.fool.com/Blogs/ViewPost.aspx?bpid=299520&t=01009917921919779399     http://caps.fool.com/Blogs/ViewPost.aspx?bpid=293436&t=01003348835715026409    My original pitch......   I have done a lot of research on this one,and I like it a lot. Not only do they have a strong drug pipeline, they have the financial backing of Invus, which seeks out companies to Invest In and provide capital for that are deemed In their opinion to have considerable Intrinsic value as the company grows, and matures."We know what it takes to transform an industry: strategic insight, patient capital and great execution. We support owner-managers on all three of these dimensions.." Some of the officers of INVUS sit on the board of directors at LEXICON,Including the President and CEO. I consider this stock a long term accumulate especially under $2.50 per share. I would be willing to buy this one all the way up to $6.00 In the coming months. I hope that It stays depressed for awhile so I can pick up shares on the cheap. I do not believe that this stock will remain under $4.00 for very long..... TS

I appreciate the input. Single, double, tripple...whatever you think will happen with certain stocks is welcomed.

I think IPHS, CGA and HOGS could double in the next year. I think BRF (ETF) stands a good chance of doubling, if not tripling.
