Why is 9.09 SO IMPORTANT

August 31, 2009 – Comments (7)

Because you can't have a Democracy and a Capitalist Economy based on hot air.

In the last five years, the banks infected our economy with trillions of toxic loans driving much of our short term prosperity.  Now that the banking system is cutting off credit to the private sector....our credit depdendent private economy is evaporating.

As the private economy dies, the tax receipts to government contracts at a time when demands on government are exploding and consuming over 50% of GDP.

We now confront the most serious economic problem in our nations history.....we can't sustain the consumption of our current capitalist democratic government and avoid going into The Biggest Depression in our nations history.

We will have to choose one or the other under the current Zombulation path....with credit being cut off to the private sector...there is simply no more money to support our government in the current form.....

We can shrink our government/economy to a sustainable level, but that will result in a massive cut to GDP...or government can come in take over everything we have to maintain itself.

This is where the tensions will develop...your politicians want to get paid versus your desire to keep what you have.  The following is a true story...I have a close friend whose vacation home tax assessment was lowered recently $400K but his taxes went up $ much for being taxed on the value of your home.

We can't have our cake and eat it too....a high spending government driving our economy and a private economy shutting down due to credit being cut off from the bankers....not for very long in a capitalistic democratic wrapper.

One has to go...let's hope we get to pick.   But if things get too bad and too many become dependent on government....the outcome will be pretty easy to predict.

09.09.09 : The day the Beatles remasters come out

09.09 : Alstry's prediction.

Why is this so hard to understand?

As the bills stack higher and the revenue stream runs slower, all eyes remain on Mayor Dave Bing as he continues to navigate the city of Detroit through a treacherous financial situation.

Bankruptcy has been the key term floating around. Critics say it's the only salvation for the city's crumbled finances, while Bing has maintained that the city of Detroit will not pursue that option unless more drastic changes are put into effect.

The city faces a $300 million deficit, mostly because of a decrease in property and income taxes, plus the cost to run city services and pay city workers.

Last week, the city suffered a blow when Moody's Investor Services dropped Detroit's bond rating to below junk status.

"Because our city faces one of the worst financial, educational and social crises of the past century, the time for pseudo-leadership has passed. Gone must be the days of rhetoric without action, style without substance and promises with no potential. Too many elected officials have drastically failed to do so, and now we are forced to deal with the consequences and clean up the mess.

Our private economy is is being cut off.....and by 9.09 you will begin to understand the impact of the Zombulator.

You cannot make an economy dependent on credit and then cut off the credit without expecting the economy to evaporate.

In America EVERYTHING is dependent on the integrity of credit.  If debt can't be serviced....not much has value like the solvency of our banks, insurance companies and pensions or the value of our homes, commercial real estate and businesses.

So to reiterate my question, why 09.09.09 specifically?

cuz it looks cool :)

When the Fed gets audited and we get full transparency (yea right, like that will ever happen!) then the full story will come to light about what is really going on.

september through december is not going to be kind.  It's really going to test people's nerves, their intelligence, and their ability to look at the big picture.

Media has spun their headlines to make things look rosey too long, and people are starting to catch on.  It's not going to be as easy the next earnings season, its either good or bad...not better than expected.   Besides, you set expectations low enough, anyone can beat them.
