because of the tolerance of opinions from many spectrums. To my friends from abroad there are many fine countries but I love America. A good analogy is marriage, whose true worth is resiliency when the hour appears bleak.

Because people who say stuff like that (regardless their political bent) never developped past the toddler stage where throwing a fit and kicking sand was to be expected when someone else joined the sandbox.

Brick I know some people never like America and in America that is your right. As stated and for emphasis I love my country and its not perfect but I couldn't imagine getting more opportunity elsewhere. Some where bellowing "America love it or leave it" a few years ago  and now they talk of leaving it. I guess they never loved IT .

Agreed I am liberal and will never leave! In fact the Mrs and I are continuing our quest to vacation in all 50 states for a few years. This before we go abroad so as to support our country.

i love America too but I don't want the federal government. They are bunch of no-good people who sit on their asses, do nothing and get our money...and if they do something it's something that we don't want..like forcefull healthcare.

I don't think they were ever the most patriotic.

Patriotism means staying to fix problems when times get tough.  Not taking your money, buying three visas to foreign countries and buying a boat..

That's just crap.

I sort of agree Rofgile.Yet check some blogs. Some folks were like America love it and many of the soon to be ex-patriates made there fortune here.Even a iota of patriotism in good times that vanishes in bad times is hypocritical. As i said to my friends from abroad there are many fine countries but I love America and  I know some people never like America and in America that is your right.

nottheSEC, what states have you been to so far? I've been to PA,NY,NJ,DE,MD,VA,NC,SC,GA,FL,(DC only 4 hours there),OH,WV,KY,TN,MI,IL,WI,OK,TX,NM,and AZ. Except for DC I've only counted states where I remember spending at least a day and a night and sometimes longer. As you can see, visiting out West is on my to-do list. I should put ME, but I was a baby at the time so missed out on the lobster :(.

Who are all these patriots threatening to leave the USA?

Is there some secret list out there, which I have not seen?

I don't know.  I've heard an awful lot of liberal Democrats talking quite seriously of exploring moving abroad if Sarah Palin becomes our President.  It's usually the sentiment that if Americans as a whole would willingly choose HER, then they simply don't want to be here with them anymore.
