I am the unofficial tech guy at work, and am not looking forward to upgrading Windows XP to 8. See, MSFT will be ending support for XP by April 2014, and I have that long to upgrade to such PCs. Sigh...

The Fool Is Correct

The sales of PC are declining and will always be so, in favor or tablets and/or smartphones. So, what is MSFT doing about the decline in their bread-n-butter product?

Windows 8 To The Rescue!

So, it would seem that 8 is the perfect solution. They are anticipating this trend, and have adjusted their OS in response. PC and tablets are converging, so, at least in theory, MSFT is ahead of the curve.

Or Is It?

Personally, I see no problem with offering 2 totally different OS'. If I had the choice, I would chose 7, but most manufacturers are sold out of PCs so equipped. XP is more than adequate for the tasks at work, and so would 7.

In regards to the title, count me among the latter.

I share your feelings. Microsoft has gone out its way to design this horrible W-8 in the same fashion obama went out of his way to design a system to destroy the medical industry. As soon as I can find a copy of W-7, I am going to rid myself of this lousy excuse of an OS, W-8!!!

Hate it....

I upgraded my son's computer from Win8 to Win7. Apparently you can still buy OEM copies of Win7. Finding the drivers for everthing was a little tricky, so do that before you wipe your hard drive.
